Snow!
Snow!

captial S o, it has finally snowed!  It has been very cold this last week and I was not looking forward to organ practice in the church, however the organ loft turned out to be the warmest part of the building and was pleasantly comfortable!

The AMIS Solo & Ensemble Festival was inspirational as always.  So many young people enjoying making music, each in their own way.  As well as hearing the most famous piano pieces, some people had made their own arrangements (by ear) of their favourite film music or jazz song!  I was, as always, deeply impressed with it all.

Next week I shall be playing some trombone music with Tim Dowling at a concert in St. John & St. Philip (The Hague) and later in the month I shall be conducting the Choral Evensong there, with music by Ayleward, Sumsion and Bullock.

I am also looking forward to playing at St. George, Beckenham again in two weeks’ time on the 4-manual organ there.  Plans are also being made for a tour to Russia again this year and I am having great fun devising very varied programmes for each instrument that I will play!

March promises to be an interesting month, but more about that later.  For details of concerts and programmes see the Agenda page which has been updated.

Hope you are all keeping warm,
Patrick
